New Alzheimer’s Treatment restores memory function using Ultrasonic waves

nerve cellsThere is a new treatment for Alzheimer’s that works by using a type of ultrasound which non-invasively beams sound waves into the brain tissue and stimulates the brain’s microglial cells (Microglila cells are basically waste-removal cells). This clears out toxic beta-amyloid clumps that are responsible for the worst symptoms of Alzheimer’s. Tests have been done on mice so far and 75% of mice got their memory function back. Human trials will begin in 2017. I hope this is a potential way to cure Alzheimer’s. It is a disease that no one should have to go through late in life. For more information, visit:
